
Submission Guidelines
1. During academic year 2021-2022, both current students and alumni of
LCC International University are eligible to submit their works.
2. All works must be original. No intellectual, conceptual, or literal plagiarism.
3. All works must be in English. They may include parts in other languages.
4. Students may submit in total up to five (5) original pieces in one or several categories. 5. Writing works should be submitted as Word documents, double-spaced in 12-point,
Times New Roman, left justified, no space between paragraphs.
6. Non-standard format is allowed as a representation of the creative part, but make sure
to consult with the category’s editor first.
7. When submitting the works, each file should be named as your first and your last name
and the title or the shortened title of the piece (e.g., “Minerva
McGonagall_Hogwarts”).

Category Guidelines

Poetry & Fiction

Fiction can be up to 3,000 words; poetry and song lyrics can be up to two (2) pages typed.

We are looking for:
-
Poetry, fiction of any genre, and song lyrics.
-
Meaningful narratives with developed themes and characters.
-
Complete pieces of writing (no parts of bigger works are accepted).

Creative Non - Fiction
-
Creative nonfiction can be up to 3,000 words.

We are looking for:
-
Memoirs and personal essays.
-
A thoughtful, compelling narrative that includes scenes, dialogue, and developed
characters.

A distinctive personal voice.
-
The use of literary elements such as metaphor, simile, personification, symbols, setting, and vivid imagery.

Creative Research
-
Creative research can be up to 3,000 words.

Citations and references should be provided in APA7 style format.
-
Coursework (essays and research) done in LCC classes can be used as the foundation, but they need to be reworked and improved to introduce the creative part.

We are looking for:
-
Theoretical and practical research papers.
-
A socially meaningful, informational, or thought-provoking message with real-life
implications.
-
Well-researched argumentation supported by credible sources and rhetoric.
-
Implementation of creative elements (i.e., story, dialogue, illustration, creative
representation of statistics, etc.)
-
